Terms of Use — Kartomed
Last updated: October 26, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Foleks Apps Studio (Oleksandr Fedorko, "we," "us," or "our") on the use of the mobile application Kartomed — Health Records ("the App"). By installing or using the App you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, do not use the App. How the App handles your data is described in the Privacy Policy.
1. What Kartomed Is
Kartomed is a personal and family health record on your phone: doctor visits, lab results, examinations, vaccinations, medications, reminders and documents. The App is free, with no advertising and no in-app purchases. No account with us is needed.
2. Not a Medical Device
Kartomed is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition, and it does not prescribe or replace treatment. Consult a healthcare professional for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Do not delay seeing a doctor or change a treatment because of what the App shows.
- In an emergency, call the emergency services instead of relying on the App.
- Reminders are an aid. The phone may delay or not show them (battery saving, notifications switched off, a restart). Do not rely on them alone.
- "Out of range" marks compare a value with the range you entered from the lab's form. Only a doctor can assess a result.
- AI recognition and explanations may contain mistakes. You check every field before it is saved; an explanation is reference information, not a diagnosis.
- Dictionaries and vaccination calendars are based on open official data and may lag behind their latest editions. Check them against your doctor's documents. Kartomed is an unofficial app and does not represent any government body.
- CT, MRI and X-ray images in the App are for viewing only, not for diagnosis.
3. Who May Use the App
The App is intended for adults (18+). You may keep in it the health record of your child or of a person in your care, if you are entitled to do so. Enter only information you are entitled to keep.
4. Your Data and Your Responsibility
Records and documents are stored only on your device; we have no access to them and cannot restore them for you. Therefore:
- make backups — the App can do this on a schedule;
- keep the backup password: an encrypted backup cannot be restored without it;
- a forgotten PIN of the App cannot be recovered, only reset with the phone's screen lock;
- emergency information on the lock screen is visible to anyone who picks up the phone — choose the fields yourself;
- files you export or send (the PDF for the doctor, an archive, an unencrypted backup) are under your control — treat them as medical documents.
5. Third-Party Services
Some features work with services of other companies, and only if you switch them on yourself: AI providers on your key, Google Drive, Dropbox, your WebDAV server, the Google address lookup service, clinic websites (icons), the banks that publish official exchange rates, medicines reference sites (in the browser). Their own terms and policies apply to them. AI requests are paid to the provider at its prices; we are not a party to your agreement with it and are not responsible for its operation, prices or availability.
6. Rights to the App
We grant you a free, non-exclusive right to use the App on your devices for personal purposes. The App, its design, texts and our own dictionaries belong to us. You may not sell the App, pass it off as your own, circumvent its protection or modify it, except where the law expressly allows it. Open-source libraries inside the App are distributed under their own licences — their list is in "About".
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is". We do our best for it to work correctly, but we do not promise that it will work without errors or interruptions, that it will suit your purpose, or that the information in the dictionaries is complete and up to date.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for health decisions made on the basis of the App, for missed reminders, for loss of data (including because of a missing backup or a forgotten password), for the actions of third-party services, or for indirect damage. This does not limit any protection you have that cannot be waived under the law of your country.
9. Changes
We may change the App and these terms. The date of the update is shown at the top; we will announce material changes in the App ("What's new"). By continuing to use the App you accept the new terms. You may stop using the App and uninstall it at any time.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the law of Ukraine. If you are a consumer in another country, you keep the mandatory rights given by the law of the country you live in. We first try to resolve a dispute by e-mail. If translations differ, the English text prevails.
